I posted a few new chapters of my fanfic based on the Eddie Murphy, Wes Craven directed 1995 movie "A Vampire in Brooklyn". Below is a sample.

Starkley said, "Cousin Rita, our intent is for you to become supreme queen of all vampires. That was the reason Lord Maximillian was sent to you. The plan was for you to become his bride and you assume your place as queen of our people. At that point, you would preside over the assimilation and utilization of the human species."
"Using them as slaves for food," Rita asked.
"That's correct," Starkley said.
"Cousin Starkley," Rita said, "I am not interested in becoming supreme queen of the vampire world. Nor am I interested in drinking innocent human blood. I have learned to manage my hunger and my cravings for blood and flesh. I have pledged myself to the solaris, and to their ideals and goals. Furthermore, I have pledged myself to protect and defend the human species. I will not allow nightwalker vampires to continue killing innocent humans for food. That practice has to END, Starkley."
Starkley looked at Rita with a cold stare. "You can't be serious."
Justice said, "So how about it, cousin?"
"Speakin' for myself, I ain't about to give up no blood or no flesh!" said Julius. "Tastes too damn good."
Justice was annoyed. "What in the hell are YOU doing STILL involved with this shit?"
"He worked for MY former boss, Detective," Starkley said, with a cold, hard stare. "There is a certain...pleasure we have derived over the centuries from eating and drinking humans," Starkley said. "It is part of the position of ultimate power, control and dominance we have as top of the global food chain, if you will."
"Power and dominance have a price, Starkley," Rita said. "The humans are catching on to vampires and have no intention of letting themselves continue to be slaughtered just because we vampires can't control our appetites. They most certainly will spawn more vampire hunters, and especially if we make any attempt to enslave them."
"We eradicated most vampire hunters in a matter of days, in retaliation for YOUR father's murder, cousin," Starkley replied, "and we can do so again. If we need to."
"Why don't you want to be our Lord of Death?" Tommy asked. "You're the daughter of Thaddeus Veder. It stands to reason that you'd respect the legacy of your father and the Moonrider clan. They were the most deadly vampires that ever lived! Everyone was afraid of them. When you killed Lord Maximillian, everyone was like, what was she thinking?"
"She was thinking she didn't want any part of what you all wanted for her," Justice said. "Or what her father wanted for her."
"The time has come for people to stop being afraid of my bloodline, and for people to stop being afraid of vampires," Rita said. "And I was curious about my father. Very curious. Now that I know more about who and what he was, I can't say that I'm exactly dying to follow in his footsteps."
"But you are his daughter. You have his blood. His respected and feared blood. I would argue that you got the greatest gift of all when Lord Maximillian turned you," Starkley said.
"It was a dubious honor, Starkley," Rita replied. "It took a lot for me to accept my becoming transformed. I didn't want to be a vampire at all. I didn't ask to have my dad's blood, I didn't ask to be a Veder, I didn't ask to be a vampire, and even though I was born a vampire, I lived most of my life as a human."
"Yes, one of the unawares," Starker replied, "and easily the most sought after, in the entire history of vampires. My position of power in the vampire world has already risen exponentially, due to the fact you two have decided to relocate here in North Carolina in the first place. If you fail to assume your rightful position, that would be a threat to my power, and I'm not so sure I would be willing to accept that, cousin."
The meeting ended in a stalemate.
As he and his entourage rose from the booth to leave, Starkley said, "We will not wait forever for you to make the right choice...whatever you feel that may be."
Rita looked up from him with a cold stare. "When you decide you can't wait any longer...we'll be ready."
